What Organize PDF pages does
Organize PDF pages rebuilds the page order of a PDF visually: drag pages into place with a mouse, turn them, or remove the ones you do not need, and see the finished arrangement before saving it. Pages are copied without being re-encoded, bookmarks follow their pages to their new positions, and nothing is final until you save, with Undo for every step. Everything happens in your browser, so the document is never uploaded.
How to organize PDF pages in your browser
- Choose the starting PDF Select the main PDF. Filozy opens it locally and shows every page in the organizer.
- Build the page order With a mouse, drag pages into the order you want. On a touch screen, dragging scrolls the grid instead of moving a page, so reorder on a computer. Hover a page to turn or remove it, click it to see it full size, or use the arrow keys with [ and ] to move a page without a mouse.
- Save the new order Select Reorder pages, check the page count and order in the result, then save the new PDF. Your original file is unchanged.
Worked example
Move an appendix ahead of the signature page.
- Starting point
- Open a five-page PDF with the signature on page 4 and the appendix on page 5.
- What to do
- Move the fifth thumbnail before the fourth using the page grid. Review the final sequence before exporting.
- Result
- Expect five pages in the order 1, 2, 3, 5, 4. The last page should now be the signature page.
If the result is not right
If the order is confusing, compare the original page numbers shown in the grid. Add new page numbers separately only after the sequence is final.
Limits worth knowing
- Page sequence changes, but printed page numbers inside the original content do not automatically change with it. Links that jump to another page may no longer land on the right one, so click through any you rely on.
- This workflow stops on interactive forms rather than risk losing their fields. Use Flatten first and check every visible answer in that saved copy, then open the flattened PDF here. Keep the editable original; protected or XFA forms may need a compatible form application first.
Questions and answers
What do the numbers under each page mean?
The first number is where the page now sits in the grid. After you move a page, its original number appears in brackets, so 3 (was 7) is the original page 7 now in third place, and a turned page also shows its angle, such as · 90°. Removed pages keep their place in the grid, faded and struck through, until you save, so the numbers still count them.
How do I undo a mistake or bring back a page I removed?
Press ✕ on a removed page again to keep it, or use Undo and Redo above the grid; with a page focused, Ctrl+Z and Ctrl+Shift+Z do the same, or Cmd on a Mac. Undo remembers your last 80 changes, and nothing is written until you select Reorder pages.
How do I move a page a long way through a big document?
With a mouse, drag it to the top or bottom edge of the grid and keep the pointer moving: the grid scrolls a little with each movement, and a marker line shows where the page will land. On a touch screen, dragging scrolls the grid instead of moving the page. From the keyboard, [ and ] move the focused page one place at a time, and Home and End jump the focus to the first or last page. If two pages look alike, click one first to check it full size.
Why do some pages show a number instead of a picture?
To keep memory in check on very long documents, pictures are drawn for the first 600 pages only. Pages after that appear as numbered tiles that can still be moved, turned and removed like the rest, and they are saved in the order you leave them.
Can I add pages from another PDF or insert blank pages?
Not here: Organize PDF pages rearranges, turns and removes the pages of one PDF. To bring in pages from other PDFs, use Merge PDF, where you can drag pages across files as well as within them and remove the ones you do not want. There is no option to insert a blank page.
Does reordering keep everything in the file?
The pages themselves are copied exactly, with their text, images and fonts, and the title, author and bookmarks are kept. The result is a new document built from those pages, so files attached to the document, accessibility tags, page labels and hidden-layer settings from the original are not carried over, a layer that was switched off shows again, and links that jump from one page to another no longer go where they did. A fillable form is refused rather than risk losing its fields.
