Local PDF processing
Password-protect a PDF without uploading it
Encrypt a PDF with AES-256 in your browser. The document and the password you type never leave your device, which is the only way a password can actually be private.
Open Protect PDF →Offline-like, without installing an app.
Sending a document and its new password to a website defeats the purpose of the password. Filozy performs the encryption locally: the browser derives the keys, rewrites the file with AES-256, and applies the permission flags you chose. Nothing about the document or the password is transmitted, and there is no server copy that could be retained.
How it works
Three transparent moments
- 1
Select the PDF
Choose the file on your device. A preview appears without any network request.
- 2
Set the password and permissions
Enter the password to open the file, and optionally restrict printing, copying and editing with a separate owner password.
- 3
Save the protected copy
Download the encrypted PDF. Store the password somewhere safe — there is no recovery, on this site or anywhere else.
